Robert Mawrey

Dr. Robert Mawrey offers more than two decades of specialized experience in the areas of antenna sites and wireless communications. In the late 1990s, Dr. Mawrey was Vice President of Systems and Technology at UNIsite Inc., where he led a team of professionals responsible for developing engineering software to predict and analyze both cosite interference and RF Health and Safety at antenna sites.

Most recently Dr. Mawrey acted as Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at American Tower Corporation, where he led an organization for nearly a decade in the successful development of software to support and enhance the company’s booming antenna site collocation business.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Mawrey worked at Meteor Communications Corporation, where he designed, tested and implemented wireless data and voice communications systems using robust, industry-leading algorithms and software tools.

Born in Durban, South Africa, Dr. Mawrey immigrated to the United States in 1991. He completed his Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering at the University of Natal, Durban, where he was also a research engineer and well-received lecturer. As a student and an engineer, Dr. Mawrey published 14 papers in peer-reviewed journals. Robert is an avid boater and fisherman, currently living with his family near Boston, Massachusetts.

Jim Higgins

Jim Higgins offers nearly twenty years of wireless engineering experience. He worked alongside Dr. Robert Mawrey during his tenure at both UNIsite Inc. and American Tower Corporation.

At UNIsite Inc., Dr. Mawrey and Mr. Higgins developed and patented UNIstar, engineering software designed to analyze RF Health and Safety on rooftops and towers while predicting and resolving collocation interference. While working at Galaxy Engineering (a subsidiary of American Tower), Jim sold collocation engineering services, software and consulting services to wireless operators.

Prior to launching AntennaWise, Jim held the role of Vice President of Sales at Ronin Technology, Inc., where he managed engineering service sales and staff augmentation to wireless operators and equipment vendors. Leading all aspects of the company’s important Ericsson account, Mr. Higgins grew annual revenue from $3M to more than $10M.

He began his wireless career in 1991 at CNet, Inc. where, for nearly five years, he developed state-of-the-art software tools and engineering solutions to aid wireless operators in system design, network design, frequency planning and CDMA/TDMA/GSM analyses. During this time, he expanded his role from software development to also include critical sales and customer service functions.

Mr. Higgins received his MBA from Southern Methodist University in 1994 and his B.S. in Computer Science from Kansas State University in 1988.
